How To Order Bubble Tea

The process of ordering bubble tea is as easy as 1,2,3 (and 4). But if you’re new to ordering Bubble tea, it may be a little overwhelming. Not to worry, we’re here to help guide you through the process! 

The typical process to order bubble tea is:

1. Choose the base
2. Choose the flavour
3. Choose the level of sweetness
4. Choose the toppings 

1. Choose The Base

The first step is choosing the base. 

If you’re looking for something sweet and refreshing, we recommend going for a fruit tea base, whereas if you’re in the mood for something more rich and creamy, opt for a milk base. Milk based bubble teas are a natural fit with flavours like coffee, chocolate, chai, almond, or caramel. 

At this stage you can also choose whether to have your base hot or cold (iced). 

2. Choose The Flavour 

It’s now time to choose a flavour to compliment your base! 

All bubble tea shops will have the classic milk teas to choose from, including: Jasmine milk tea, Assam milk tea, tiger milk tea etc. If you’re a fan of flavoured milk and/or milkshakes, opt for a flavoured classic milk tea. With a huge range of flavours to choose from, including staple milkshake flavours strawberry, chocolate and banana, these sweet drinks are a fan-favourite for good reason.

There is also a wide range of fruit tea flavours to choose from, including: mango, lemon, lychee, peach, dragon fruit and so on.

3. Choose The Level Of Sweetness

Once you have your chosen base and flavour, you can choose your desired level of sweetness. Usually, bubble tea shops will use several different sweeteners in order to give you the sweet desirable taste. Common sweeteners used in bubble tea are white sugar, brown sugar, sugar syrup, fructose and honey.

For a healthier option, consider reducing it to half sweetness or 10% sweetness. You may even want to cut out the sugar all together. 

4. Choose The Toppings

Now the fun part… choosing your toppings! These are add-ons that you typically find at the bottom of the drinks. At Bubblebase, you can choose up to 5 different toppings. 

Tapioca pearls are the original bubble tea topping and generally the most popular. These are made from dried cassava root and taste just like caramel gummy bears… simply delicious if we do say so ourselves.

You may also decide to go for jellies. Fruit flavoured jellies go well with fruity teas, whereas traditional jellies like coconut jelly and grass jelly go well with creamy drinks.
